Seniors eating ready-made meals

The over-55 population of Europe constitutes 26% of the ready-made meals market, with the French leading the Brits, Germans and Swedes, according to a report from Datamonitor. The report attributes this to more seniors living alone, but the report also suggests consumer packaged goods manufacturers "offer the older consumer a sense of pride in feeling there was some skill in preparing the meal," an analyst at Datamonitor said.
