Disadvantaged Maryland students narrowing the achievement gap

Maryland students overall have shown steady academic gains since 2003, with reading proficiency climbing from 61% to 82% this year and math rising from 53% to 76% in the same span, according to newly released state testing data. The data also show that the state's minority and low-income children are steadily narrowing the achievement gap.
