Latest Icahn-Microsoft bid shines friendly spotlight on Yahoo's Yang

At the Allen & Co. conference in Idaho during the weekend, media and technology moguls were buzzing about activist-investor Carl Icahn's joint bid with Microsoft for Yahoo. The general consensus: Microsoft's latest offer was ludicrous -- and it cast Yahoo CEO Jerry Yang in a heroic light. Yang said he wants a serious deal with Microsoft but alleged that Microsoft wants to undercut Yahoo so it can buy the company cheaply.
