Apple makes iTunes off limits to Pre users

Palm's Pre smartphone can no longer access the iTunes music library after Apple issued a software upgrade that "disables devices falsely pretending to be iPods," an Apple representative said. The Pre's ability to download content from iTunes had proved a major selling point for the device, but a Palm representative said previous versions of the iTunes software remained compatible with the Pre.
