Continental takes $44M charge on retiring 737s

Continental Airlines will take a $44 million charge in the second quarter to reflect the falling value of its 737 aircraft slated for retirement. Continental is retiring all of its 737-300 models and a "significant portion" of its 737-500s by January 2010.
