Daffy's looks to shore up discount status

As the consumer economy continues to swoon, discount apparel retailers such as Daffy's are finding themselves competing with more high-end stores such as Saks and Neiman Marcus for the value shopper. Daffy's is responding with a novel ad campaign. It's offering one lucky customer a one-year lease on a $7,000-per-month furnished apartment in Manhattan's West Village at one-tenth the going price. The apartment will go to the customer who submits a winning 30-second video [made in a Daffy's location] explaining why they should get the apartment.
