Extension of jobless benefits possible, House leader says

"When it becomes necessary," the U.S. House of Representatives will consider extending unemployment benefits, said House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer. "It is appropriate to extend unemployment [benefits] when it runs out. We've done that in the past," Hoyer said. "My expectation would be we will do it ... when it becomes necessary."
