A Kindle in every backpack? Some Democrats hope so

Leaders of a Democratic think tank are proposing that every student be provided with a digital reading device, such as the Kindle, that can be "loaded with the most up-to-date and interactive teaching materials and texts available." The Democratic Leadership Council says electronic textbooks could improve education quality and save money.
