Las Vegas Strip resort involved in second trademark dispute of week

In the second trademark lawsuit of the week involving a major Las Vegas Strip resort, the Las Vegas Sands' Palazzo hotel-casino filed a lawsuit against Houston-based Palazzo Design Corp., saying the company falsely has claimed to have the exclusive rights to sell Palazzo clothing items. The lawsuit says Palazzo Design has offered to license or sell the trademark rights to the hotel-casino and has threatened to sue the company if it doesn't agree to the deal. Earlier, Wynn Resorts' Encore resort sued an Atlanta company over the trademark rights to the "XS" trademark that the Encore uses for a nightclub.
