Retailers focus on keeping inventory low

Retailers don't expect to be forced into deep discounts like they were last year, but they are still keeping inventory low, limiting choices for customers. Aeropostale has limited the amount of different fabrics it uses, and mattress company Sealy has gotten rid of some of the options it used to offer customers. "There will not be the same level of promotions to clear inventory" as in 2008, Macy's CEO Terry Lundgren said.
