Chicago halts initiative to combat pet overpopulation

The Department of Animal Care and Control in Chicago has decided to suspend its "Big Fix" program, the city's initiative to help neuter, spay or euthanize pets, because of a lack of veterinarians. The department said it is looking to hire two veterinarians to aid in the program designed to control pet overpopulation.
