Machinists union: Hawker Beechcraft plans to move jobs

Hawker Beechcraft may consider moving thousands of jobs out of Wichita, Kan., according to union officials. Steve Rooney, president of Machinists District 70, wrote that the company "will shrink almost immediately down to 25 percent or more within two years, without a guarantee of even the last few jobs staying." Hawker Beechcraft employs about 7,000 people in Wichita, including 2,400 hourly workers represented by the Machinists.
