Record number of homes were seized in 2nd quarter

Lenders have set a pace to seize more than 1 million homes from delinquent homeowners by the end of the year, according to RealtyTrac. Nearly 270,000 homes were claimed during the second quarter, a 38% increase from the same period the previous year. In the first half of the year, some sort of foreclosure filing was sent to 1.65 million properties. Unemployment figures indicate bank repossessions could continue to increase.
