Report: TSMC is getting a shot at making Apple processors

Citing an industry source, Reuters reported Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. is in trial production of processors for Apple's mobile devices. Samsung Electronics exclusively makes the A5 processor, a proprietary Apple design, used in the iPad 2, but competitive and legal issues between Apple and Samsung may provide an entree for the Taiwanese silicon foundry to pick up some of Apple's chip-making business.
