Americans embrace aperitifs

Americans have been slow to adopt the practice of indulging in aperitifs, the chilled, aromatic drinks that help diners unwind while stimulating the appetite before dinner, but that is beginning to change. More domestically produced herbal spirits, fortified wines and fruit liqueurs are appearing in trendy bars and on store shelves beside their classic European counterparts.
