Analysis: Lawmakers urging tax reform have little to celebrate

Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont., chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, and Rep. Dave Camp, R-Mich., chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, are traveling the nation, often together, to build support for long-overdue reform of the tax code, but their effort is foundering, according to The Economist. "Each loophole that is closed will hurt a clearly-defined group of voters or companies, many of them well-organised," the magazine says.
