Data show success of primary care-based wellness initiative

The Americans In Motion-Healthy Interventions initiative used by primary care practices helped patients lose weight and improve their fitness regardless of whether office staff also used the tools, according to a study in the Annals of Family Medicine. Researchers from the American Academy of Family Physicians National Research Network found 29.2% of patients completing the study lost at least 5% of their body weight and/or increased their fitness levels.
