Facepopular offers Latin Americans an alternative to Facebook

An Argentinian social network called Facepopular promises to provide Latin Americans with an "anti-establishment alternative front" against Facebook and other U.S. social networks. Instead of emoticons, the site lets users exchange "EmoPerones" inspired by Argentine President Juan Domingo Perón; his wife, Eva; and political activists and independence fighters such as José Martín and Simón Bolivar.
