Fluoride varnishes may lower risk of cavities in children

U.S. researchers reviewed studies on the prevention of dental caries in children and found that the use of fluoride varnishes was associated with an 18% to 59% reduction in children's cavities, compared with children who did not have fluoride varnishes. The findings appear in the journal Pediatrics.
