KDOT aviation director always wanted a career in aviation

Jesse Romo, acting director of the Kansas Department of Transportation's Division of Aviation, says having a career in aviation was all he ever wanted. He got his pilot's license when he was 18 and also holds instrument and commercial ratings. After receiving a master's in business administration from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Fla., Romo worked for the Burbank Airport Authority in California and later joined KDOT.
