Lawsuits are possible regarding EU-US derivatives compromise

The US Commodity Futures Trading Commission has approved a compromise struck with the European Commission regarding cross-border application of derivatives rules, but the deal could face lawsuits, experts say. For example, SIFMA and other industry groups had expressed concerns about the proposal from CFTC Chairman Gary Gensler before the vote.
