Many Alzheimer's patients may have undiagnosed prediabetes, diabetes

Data on Alzheimer's disease patients revealed 30% had glucose intolerance and 13% showed results consistent with diabetes two hours after a first fasting glucose tolerance test. The results suggest that undiagnosed prediabetes and diabetes are common among patients with Alzheimer's disease, who should be subject to screening, a researcher noted. The results were slated for presentation at the Alzheimer's Association International Congress.
