N.D. oil production reaches record in May, regulator says

Oil production from North Dakota reached a new high in May, according to the state Department of Mineral Resources. North Dakota oil fields produced 810,000 barrels per day in May, up from 639,000 barrels per day in May 2012. Natural gas output in May also increased to 27.9 million cubic feet, up from 21.3 million cubic feet in May 2012, data from the department showed.
