Sen. Rockefeller introduces new EHR law

A bill has been introduced by Sen. Jay Rockefeller, D-W.Va., that would offer incentive payments to providers and health clinics serving low-income patients to encourage them to implement EHRs. Using EHRs could help avoid duplicative clinical testing, saving money, and it could also make it harder for patients who abuse certain prescription drugs to doctor shop, Rockefeller said.
