U.K. chief medical officer wants opt-out organ donor policy

The U.K.'s chief medical officer Sir Liam Donaldson this week is expected to call for a "soft" opt-out organ donor system in his annual report on the country's health. The soft opt-out uses presumed consent, but informs families if there are no registered objections and asks if they have a strong opposition to allowing organ harvesting.
