KCI's wound-healing device to remain available to Medicare patients

Kinetic Concepts will continue to offer V.A.C. Therapy, a wound-healing device, to Medicare Part B beneficiaries after Congress passed a bill postponing until 2011 the implementation of CMS' competitive-bidding program for negative-pressure wound treatment. The Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act of 2008, however, mandates a 9.5% cut on equipment for such therapy on Medicare Part B placements starting in January.
