Official: FDA's device center needs to bolster expertise

The FDA's Center for Devices and Radiological Health needs significant resources to shore up its dwindling expertise in medical devices to better detect problems in the field, an agency director said. "There will be additional activity in the device area as far as resources," said Timothy Ulatowski, director of CDRH's Office of Compliance.
