Macrovision becomes Rovi, announces Blockbuster deal

Macrovision, the company that last year acquired Gemstar-TV Guide International, has announced that it is changing its name to Rovi Corp. and that it has inked a deal with Blockbuster to showcase the video rental chain's on-demand catalog on its new interactive program guide. The new IPG, to be called Liquid and designed for Internet-enabled HDTVs and other devices, is expected to be available early next year.
