AHA: Final meaningful use rule still poses barriers

The American Hospital Association was pleased that the CMS added some flexibility to the final rule on meaningful use of health information technology, but expressed concern that many hospitals may not be able to meet the rule's objectives. "Given limited vendor capacity and workforce shortages, many hospitals will not have timely access to certified products, since no certified EHR systems are available today," the group said.
