Senate bill provides $20B in funding for clean coal

Two legislators have unveiled a stand-alone bill that provides $20 billion in funding for clean coal. The bill sponsored by Sens. John D. Rockefeller IV, D-W.Va., and George V. Voinovich, R-Ohio, expands federal loan guarantees for carbon capture and sequestration technology that many say is vital if we are to continue the use of coal. "It will never be said that you can't burn coal cleanly" if the bill becomes law, said Rockefeller.
