Audit says Portland, Ore., dispatchers need more training

An audit of the Portland, Ore., Bureau of Emergency Communications says 9-1-1 operators who answer calls for Multnomah County gain training that meets minimum state standards but "does not provide sufficient exposure to all necessary skills." The bureau director says the agency needs more funding to address concerns in the audit.
