CEA's DTV interface standard to support Ultra HD, wide-screen formats

The Consumer Electronics Association has published the CEA-861-F standard for digital television interfaces, taking into account Ultra HD technology and wide-screen video formats. "CEA-861-F is a significant new standard for the consumer electronics industry that will help drive the Ultra HD and wide-screen market," CEA's Brian Markwalter said, adding, "The new edition includes a number of noteworthy enhancements, including support for several new Ultra HD and wide-screen video formats and additional colorimetry schemes."
