Curiosity's year-long road trip underway

The Mars rover has begun what will be a year-long journey to the base of Mount Sharp, a peak rising in middle of a crater, and has so far covered less than 500 feet. The rover won't be in a hurry; it's top speed is only 0.09 miles per hour, and scientists eventually will send it up Mount Sharp to explore.
