Doctor will test honey on patients with MRSA-infected wounds

New Mexico pediatrician R. Stephen Rankin is collaborating with staff at San Juan College medical laboratory and San Juan Regional Medical Center on a clinical trial of locally produced honey in wound healing. The team is seeking 50 patients whose wounds test positive for methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. Half will receive antibiotics and half will be treated with the honey.
