Higher cognitive impairment risk seen in women with diabetes

Female type 2 diabetes patients were 69% more likely than those without the disease to suffer amnestic and non-amnestic mild cognitive impairment, a study found. Researchers found a nonsignificant 31% increased risk of MCI in men with diabetes compared with nondiabetic controls. The results were presented at the Alzheimer's Association International Conference.
