Home-built microjet is set to debut at AirVenture

Bede Aircraft developed the BD-5 in the 1970s, a kit microjet that was supposed to be cheap and easy to build and fly, but the plane turned out to be too expensive and difficult to build. Pilot Justin Lewis bought a kit for a BD-5, and later he formed his own company and partnered with BD Micro Technologies to improve the kit and build the first BD-5FLS. The aircraft will debut this year at AirVenture.
