HOS rules for truckers is a major concern for shippers, survey finds

A recent survey found 50% of shippers are concerned about the hours-of-service regulations for truck drivers. The rules, intended to regulate the amount of time truckers spend on the road, could result in reduced services and higher freight rates, companies said. Meanwhile, a growing number of manufacturers are turning to railroads to deliver goods in a bid to save on costs.
