How much is the industry spending on the medical-device tax?

According to a report from AdvaMed and other trade groups, the medical-device industry has spent about $1 billion complying with the 2.3% device tax included in the Affordable Care Act. Medtech firms have paid a monthly average of $194 million under the law, money the groups argue would be better spent on expanding the workforce and financing research and development.
