Pancreatic-tissue transplant could help diabetes patients

In preclinical tests, pancreatic-tissue transplants showed promise in treating type I diabetes, according to a study conducted by a team at Washington University School of Medicine. Researchers performed experiments on rats and found that transplanted tissue successfully developed into organs that made insulin.
