Proposed S.D. wind farm could create more than 1,000 construction jobs

Dakota Power Community Wind and developer Dakota Plains Energy are looking to develop a wind farm in South Dakota's Lincoln County that would have a capacity of up to 1,000 megawatts. The facility is projected to occupy up to 75,000 acres, says Rob Johnson, co-founder and president of Dakota Plains Energy. The project would create more than 1,000 construction-related jobs and up to 70 permanent jobs upon completion in 2018, the group says.
