Some chronic migraine sufferers find relief with plastic surgery

Botox injections in the forehead, temples and back of the neck can help relieve some migraine headaches by blocking nerve signals that cause muscles to contract, specialists say. Plastic surgeon Jeffrey Janis often uses Botox as a test to locate migraine trigger points that could be treated through decompression surgery. Some headache centers are also offering implanted neurostimulation devices that send electrical impulses to target areas in the head and neck to block pain.
