Teachers learn history lessons from New England community

The 1704 raid by French troops and Native Americans on an English settlement in Deerfield, Mass., was recently featured as part of a workshop attended by 40 teachers from across the country. The Pocumtuck Valley Memorial Association hosted the free, two-week event that included talks by local historians, site visits and lesson ideas on this and other events of American history.
