Timing of divorce may affect future parent-child relationship

Children whose parents divorced when they were younger than 5 had greater feelings of insecurity in terms of their relationship with them in adulthood than those whose parents divorced when they were older, a study showed. Researchers noted that parental divorce had no significant effect on adult children's views on their romantic partners. The findings appear in the journal Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin.
