U.S. homebuilder confidence jumps

An accelerating stream of eager buyers drove confidence by homebuilders to its highest level in more than seven years. The National Association of Homebuilders said its index of homebuilder sentiment rose 6 points this month, to 57. Any reading above 50 indicates that builders think conditions are good. Builders' stock prices were flat as investors worried about the impact of interest-rate increases on future home sales.
