Wis. students experience range of engineering career options

Eighth-graders participating in Camp Badger Exploring Engineering, sponsored by the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, are visiting farms, factories and other industries in the region to see how an engineering education can lead them into some unexpected careers. "It's not your traditional textbook-in-the-classroom learning," camp coordinator Angela Whitaker said. She added: "It really works well for today's young people to be able to get their hands on things and ask questions in an environment that's more casual."
