World Wildlife Fund VP on palm oil sustainability challenges

Many U.S. companies cannot afford the high price of palm oil that is certified as sustainable, according to Dave McLaughlin, vice president with the World Wildlife Fund, which he worries is the reason some companies use as an excuse to do nothing. "What they should be doing is buying GreenPalm certificates now to cover 100% of their palm oil usage so that it will be easier to make the transition to a physical supply chain in future," he said.
