Yahoo's revenues decline for second quarter in a row

Revenues at Yahoo declined 7% in the second quarter of the year as the search giant's online advertising business foundered. Display ad revenue decreased 12%, and search ad revenue was down 9%. But CEO Marissa Mayer noted during the quarterly earnings call that Yahoo has managed to improve year-over-year growth in global daily average page views. "Renewed traffic growth in the face of multiple years of decline is, to my knowledge, unprecedented among industry players that operate with billions of page views, and we've achieved just that," Mayer said.
