Clorox partners up on UV device to disinfect health care facilities

Clorox is partnering with another firm on the Optimum-UV device, which can disinfect patient isolation rooms and other health care areas by using ultraviolet light to kill bacteria. The device was developed by UltraViolet Devices, and Clorox will handle sales and marketing for the product. The Optimum-UV can help address "the 50% of the hospital room that isn't disinfected by manual surface cleaners like wipes and sprays," said Matt Laszlo, vice president and general manager for Clorox's professional products division.
