Experts: U.S. refiners boost investment, export deals amid competition

Refining companies in the U.S. continue to invest and enter into product export deals amid projected competition with foreign refiners, experts said July 14 at an Energy Information Administration conference. Flat demand for oil products in the U.S. has boosted such deals, said Joanne Shore, chief industry analyst at the American Fuel and Petrochemical Manufacturers, adding that "surplus has allowed the U.S. to change from a net product importer to a net exporter."
