Federal court rules U. of Texas can use affirmative action in admissions

The University of Texas at Austin can continue to use affirmative action in undergraduate admissions, according to a three-judge panel of the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. The decision is expected to be appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court, which last year had ordered the New Orleans-based court to reconsider the case.
